It can be fed with fish worms, leeches, red worms, pellets, etc. The male fish is burly, the head is round and solid, while the female fish has a flat head. The appropriate water temperature for breeding is 27-28℃. Females lay 300-500 eggs each time, and the interval between spawning is 7-10 days.

The water quality is weakly acidic and soft, and the suitable breeding water temperature is 26-28℃. The male fish has a larger body, the top of its head is slightly rounded while the female fish's top head is thin and smooth. The female fish lays 300-500 eggs each time.
