Estimated reading period: 3-5 minutes
Article words: 434

Betta splendens or more commonly known as betta is originated from rice paddies in Thailand.
The breeding history of betta is relatively early. A long time ago, there were some people keep bettas and watch them fight with each other as a kind of entertainment. Nowadays, because the betta is easy to raise, and their appearance is very gorgeous, it has become one of the most popular ornamental fish. Although bettas can survive in small fish tanks, they would be healthier and happier by living in a bigger fish tank. Therefore, we recommend you provide a big fish tank for them.

Before buying your lovely bettas, you can choose a bigger fish tank and decorate it well! Adding stones and tiles in betta fish tank can add fun to them as bettas love to swim around, hide and rest in decorations like these sometimes. Besides, it is also helpful to add an aquarium heater to keep the aquarium water temperature and add a filter for improving water quality. This
Hanging On Aquarium Filter can help you to save room and add more oxygen for your bettas. You also need to add a cover on your fish tank or purchase an enclosed fish tank because it might jump high sometimes.

After preparing all the things above and clean your aquarium well, you can go to purchase your bettas now! Choose bettas with beautiful and colorful colors! Because usually, bettas with beautiful colors are healthier and happier. Make sure their bodies are in good condition. Try to interact with them by putting them at the bottom of a fish tank and see if they will be peaceful or noisy. If they are peaceful, they all have good personalities and therefore much it is easier for you to keep.

Bettas are carnivorous fishes. You can feed them with meat and flakes. Frozen or freeze-dried shrimp or worms will work great and they will love you for it. Mix these with flakes to export vitamins and vegetables. You can feed this diet up to 2 or 3 times a day.

Cleaning the betta fish tank is also vital. You need to change 30%-50% of aquarium water per week and clean your filter regularly. Also please do not add two male bettas in a fish tank. Otherwise, they will fight until the other one is dead. If you keep female bettas, you can add at least two of them in your fish tank. In winter, your fish tank water becomes cooler so we suggest you add a
Submersible Aquarium Heater in your betta fish tank for keeping aquarium water temperature.
